We have some exciting news for you... 

The 3rd annual MPI Forum is back! And this year, it's bigger and better than ever. The forum will be held at The Westin Bayshore Vancouver on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at 5pm. Our Special Guest Speaker:
Narges Nirumvala
Called ‘The Secret Weapon’ by one Vancouver journalist, Narges Nirumvala is the CEO of ExecutiveSpeak Coaching International and author of the book “Capture the Spotlight”. She works with corporate leaders, association executives, elected community officials and high-performance teams to help them find their authentic voice, craft persuasive content and communicate with confidence in any situation.

Narges is often called upon by the media as an expert in her field and has appeared on CityTV, Breakfast Television Vancouver, OMNI Television, SUCCESS magazine, the Province, News1130 radio, the Vancouver Courier, Business In Vancouver and many others. Narges is also a Mentor with the Vancouver Board of Trade ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ program, sits on the Board of Advisors for Healthy Crowdfunder Corporation and is an Instructor at Langara College. Narges was a finalist for the Mompreneur of the Year Award and Spirit, Success & Soul Award. Our Panelists:
Mark Raham
Mark is the Creative Director at Canucks Sports & Entertainment. His job entails him to be in charge of the look, feel and enhancement of the Canucks brand. He started working with the Canucks in 1997 with the broadcast operations team. He was in charge of developing stories, motion graphics, visual identity and broadcast design.

In 2004, Mark left to work at Electronic Arts (EA) Games. At EA, he worked on numerous projects, the most recent being the Art Director for EA’s Need For Speed franchise. After five years, Mark returned to Canucks in 2009 where he is currently a Creative Director. For more information about Mark, visit here.

Brent Charleton
Brent is the Vice President of Corporate Affairs at EnWave Corporation, and the Vice President at BCIT Alumni Associate Board of Directors. A previous BCIT grad in the Marketing Management Entrepreneurship option, Brent exercised leadership, creativity and management skills as President of Student In Free Interprise (now named Enactus).

Fun fact: Brent was previously a professional basketball player in one of Australasia’s top leagues, New Zealand Breakers Basketball Ltd. Through that job, he was a part of community involvement, brand development and promotional experience. For more information about Brent, visit here.

Vance Ng
Vance is passionate about Olympic Games. Upon graduating from BCIT’s Marketing Communications Program, Vance followed his dream and worked at 2010 Legacies Now, a non-profit organization that created legacies throughout British Columbia. After that, Vance went to London and managed the brand campaigns for the London 2012 Olympics. Currently, he is the Digital Engagement Manager at Lululemon Athletica. James Douglas
James is the Director of Business Development at Vancouver Canucks. He is a sales professional with broad experiences in sports sponsorship and broadcast media. James specializes in developing strategic partnerships around sports and content, as well as expert knowledge of broadcast sales and inventory management. He is also a strategic thinker with a strong belief that setting realistic goals and working through the obstacles to reach them is the surest path to a long term partnership. Dean Mitchell
A graduate from the University of Wales in the UK, Dean from Sales Talent Agency first took on a Sales & Marketing function at the University of Wales Press which gave him his first career experience of Sales Management, Inside Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Key Accounts and a broad spectrum of Marketing skills. After a few years Dean joined the Orion Publishing Group, the number two book publisher in the UK, as one of their eleven Territory Managers.

After moving to Canada, Dean took on a Marketing Account Manager role at Rettie & Co, a leading real estate agency which later progressed into a Sales Manager/Marketing Manager role. Later, he secured a position with Hays Specialist Recruitment, focusing on Sales & Marketing recruitment. His reputation and exposure to the industry eventually reached Sales Talent Agency, which then landed him a position as Sales Talent Agent in the Vancouver office. Oscar Malpica
Oscar, Managing Director and Founder of Envisioning Labs, improves people’s lives through identifying and exploiting opportunities in business, technology, social sciences, research and design. He leads a team of trans-disciplinary innovators covering emerging technologies as diverse as big data, cloud computing, genomics, financial engineering, robotics and advanced materials.

Former team lead of innovation and prototyping initiatives with Microsoft; technology consultant for multinationals, startups and diverse international organizations including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and United Nations Volunteers. Natasha Jung
Natasha Jung is a marketing professional by day and an active volunteer by night (and weekends).

In her professional life, Natasha is a Marketing Specialist at global accounting and consultancy firm, Deloitte. She has over eight years of professional experience in project management, event planning and marketing in the non-profit, higher education, broadcast and entertainment industries.

With her roots deep in the Richmond community, Natasha has been an active volunteer for 16 years. Named one of the Richmond Review's "30 Under 30" for 2013, amongst other contributions to the community, she is most notably known as the Co-Creator and Executive Producer of RichCity Idol, named one of Richmond, BC’s “best community events” in 2013.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University (SFU), Natasha maintains her ties with the university as a mentor for Young Women in Business (YWiB SFU) and a coach for the SFU JDC West Business Case Competition marketing team. She is also a mentor for the Leaders of Tomorrow program with the Vancouver Board of Trade. Natasha presents and facilitates workshops for universities and non-profits on the topics of professional development, marketing, event planning and volunteerism.

Kelvin Monteiro
Kelvin is the Front Office Manager at Delta hotels, Principal Consultant at M-Solutions and a motivational speaker. He has over 10 years in the hospitality industry with many years in leadership and management roles. His focus is maximizing Revenue, Program Creation, and Coaching. Kelvin possessed an Excellent Attitude, High Energy, Multiple Languages Spoken, a Roll Up My Sleeves Attitude, Innovative, Employee & Guest Resolution, Staff Retention, Procedure Creation, Team Trainer and Hiring.

Kelvin was a Guest Speaker at Vancouver Community College, Canadian Tourism College and Capilano University, Douglas College and various businesses and programs. Kathy Nicolay
Kathy is a well-respected manager at Tourism Vancouver. Within the last five years, Kathy and her team has successfully grown and developed the “Be a Host” program. The program include research, networking and hosting educational events for conference organizers. With a strong focus on events-based fundraising, Kathy has extended her experience in non-profit organizations within Canada and abroad. Paulina Cameron
A graduate from the Sauder School of Business at UBC in December 2009, majoring in Finance and Accounting, Paulina Cameron was a Founding Director of Young Women in Business (YWiB). Paulina was the organization’s President, and is currently Chair of the Board of Directors. YWiB is a non-profit society for emerging female leaders in Canada, which grew from a conference in 2008 to 7 chapters across Canada. The network acts as the central forum to connect ambitious young women from a variety of careers, industries, and backgrounds.

Paulina currently works at the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) as the Business Development Manager. Previously, Paulina worked at KPMG Vancouver with Industrial Markets clients, where she completed her Chartered Accountant designation. In 2010, Paulina was the award recipient of the National Leadership Award from KPMG for her significant community contributions, and was nominated for the YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Award. In 2011 she was awarded the World of Difference 100 Award from the International Alliance for Women in Washington, DC, for her outstanding work to advance the economic empowerment of women locally, regionally, and worldwide.
